Compared Prophecies to Faction - Guild Wars Forums

So my friend and i both got different versions but for some reason, he seems to be lvling much faster and told me he had been getting quests w/ 3000 xp compared to my 1000 xp quests. My question is, is it quicker to lvl your characters in faction or is he hiding something from me?

Leveling is MUCH faster in Factions, but they throw you to the wolves a lot sooner in Factions as well, so expect him to start telling you how hard the game is :P

Yeah, the focus in Factions was to get you to lvl 20 as quickly as possible... The makers of that game took Factions from a PvP perspective, that's why it is the way it is now.

Lvling in factions is much faster(lvl20 by the 3rd mission), but then you also get to the harder parts faster. It also doesn't have much time for new players to learn to play(2 missions to learn to play).

Prophecies on the other hand lvls a lot slower(lvl 20 by the end of the game). You get to the hard parts really late, but new players have more than half the game to learn to play.
